After a devastating school fire leaves him in a coma, Tony awakens to a world that has moved on without him. His family is gone, strange new powers burn beneath his skin, and the cloaked figure with yellow eyes that has haunted his nightmares for years is becoming all too real.

Once recruited into a secret team of heroes known as Project Barricade, Tony dons the moniker Persevere and vows to protect the city of Old Belmont. As the being from his dreams begins to emerge as a real threat, Tony realizes he’s now on a powerful enemy’s radar.

Veka is coming, and his eyes are set on Persevere. A nemesis is born from his own past, and he’s determined to drag Tony into the shadows.

Caught between vengeance and mercy, Tony must decide what kind of hero he wants to be. When the world gives you every reason to become a monster, can you still choose to become a hero?

After a devastating confrontation with the new supervillain, Antithesis, Persevere and the heroes of Project Barricade find themselves thrust into the spotlight. Hailed by some as protectors and condemned by others as dangerous vigilantes, the young heroes must navigate a city that fears them almost as much as it needs them.

As the dangerous gang known as the Mandiri expands its grip on Old Belmont, Tony and his team race to expose the truth before countless lives are lost. Every lead pulls them deeper into a web of corruption, betrayal, and secrets that were never meant to surface.

Yet even as hopelessness rises, something unexpected begins to flower. Tony meets a girl named Shay shortly after having a strange dream about her. When she offers a glimpse of a normal life, Persevere must also balance being Tony. For the first time, Tony begins to imagine a future worth fighting for.

But the visions are changing.

Haunted by nightmares of what he could become and driven by a desire for vengeance against those who have destroyed so much, Tony stands at the crossroads he was warned about. To save the innocent and clear his name, Tony must choose whether to  be a symbol of hope...or to enact a vengeance that could make him the monster he already fears. Who will he save first, and at what cost?
